Innovation
What makes your idea unique?

In my area, extra marital sex is considered a taboo, and women who get pregnancy out of marriage are somehow abandoned by the society. My ideas aim at empowering women with ability to become pregnant when they want by overcoming various gender, cultural and social barriers. It will be also the first idea in a country where abortion is not legal searching how victims of unwanted pregnancy can benefit special antenatal care in case they want to continue pregnancy or get right to safe abortion in some intolerable circumstances.
The fact that It engages people to bypass cultural barriers as regards to unwanted pregnancies, and tackles law and neglected woman's rights issues which provide a platform for future discussions/debates on various forms of sexual violence and legal abortions makes it unique.

Do you have a patent for this idea?

Yes

It will significantly change the society's mind set of considering extra marital pregnancy as a taboo which result in abandoning ladies with unintended pregnancies.

The Story
What was the defining moment that you led to this innovation?

When I was doing my practical skills in Teaching Hospitals last year,I met many cases of women who come with complications of unsafe abortion because they feel shame to consult hospital on time;some of them with severe complications and since then I though that some interventions need to be done to save lives of these human beings. Most of those cases were associated with factors leading to unintended pregnancies and related stigmas;among other factors, psychological trauma (defilement, incest, rape, adultery),cultural barriers (death, marriage conditions, stigma, male sex dominance)and genocide history are incriminated and the victims can't overcome them without support.

Tell us about the social innovator behind this idea.

Eliminate stigmatization to women with unwanted pregnancies.
Improve family planing
Reduce cases of abortion and help access to safe abortion
