About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Helping to eradicate child pornography on the net is one of the maxims that we must bear in mind in a completely digital society as it is ours. We can frame the reasons that leads to this situation in three categories: Technological problem (lack of education, anonymity, Invulnerability, unawareness); Educational problem (unprepared teachers, lack of models, fear of the use of technology) and Lack of coordination (Global legal vacuum)

We fight to eradicate child pornography from the internet with different software tools. We offer several software tools to our clients:, the main tool is AACS. With Alia2 Advertising Control System (AACS), we help brands from appearing in unwanted places, preserving their brand equity, and ensuring their advertising dollars do not go towards the wrong causes. Every reported page is examined closely and in case that adverts of one controlled brand appear on it, it will be inmediately notified. We give controlled brands the information about oth the page where the adverts is found, and its contects. We have found through our expertise that many web sites containing ilegal material usually finance themselves via commercial ad robots.

Imagine that a pedophile want to Exchange child pornographic material, for this he/she needs upload his own material and come into contact with other users. He/ She decides to create a page. Creating this website leads to two options: pay for hosting, wich allow the police follow the payment data for find it; or use a hosting service free and anonymous. This type of free services only has a way of Financing, which is advertising, so if we eliminate advertising of such services, free hosting services may not assume the associated cost and will have to shut down the services, or at least stop servicing pedophiles if they want to keep their advertising contracts.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

As we have just begun the development of the hotline, we don't have historical data on the generated impact. Our intention is to eliminate between 80-90 % of the advertizing income of these portals eliminating the big advertisers and advertizing networks of the same ones.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

Our long-term goals are the following: Extend the model in the main global advertising market; Involve the advertisers and media agencies in the fight for a responsable and safe Internet; Promoting the inclusion of policies of social responsibility in the recruitment of media; Create a framework for self-regulation of the independent sector of the legal measures; Use part of the revenue generated to deploy a system of search content pedophiles on the net.
Sustainability

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

Our revenue model is based on direct sales.. We estimate that the first year we will incur looses of 15.000 euros and this is the reason why we need a grant for finance the project in the first year at least. Though, on the third year we will have a benefit of 3400 euros. We expect the sales to grow 10% first year and 30%, 50% and 100% as follow up to the fifth year, so at this time we expect to have a benefit of 91.000 euros.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

Our main competitors at national level are Protegeles, Save the childrens and Pantallas Amigas. They also works on the same field of fighting to eradicate child pornography from the internet, but they lack of effective tools to resolve the problem regarding to enterprise, though. Protegeles: has a hotline and helpline, Save the childrens focused on children rights, not adolescent; and Pantallas amigas make dissemination and prevention work in education, but does not give global solutions. Besides, we have a list of agreements with several official organism and enterprises.
Team

Founding Story

In 2008 I put together a team composed of individuals with broad expertise and relevance in the fields necessary to achieve social goals of Alia2 Foundation. We work with: Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, Counsel for the child in the Community of Madrid, National Police Force and various private companies (Google, Microsoft, and Tuenti Jazztel. I address the strategic development and expansion of the Foundation Alia2. My personal challenge is to raise awareness to the citizenship not only spanish but international to the problem facing us. Also, we have been admitted to INHOPE.

Team

Our co-founders are Miguel Comin (Degree in Business Administration), Director of Alia2 Foundation, and David Pedroche (Computer Engineer), Founder of Control Ad. As Advisor, we count on Juan Antonio Moreno (Computer Engineer), Head of technical development en Alia2 foundation. Our staff is formed by Diego Dominguez, Head of the training and elearning department and Alba Garrote, Head of the Grant Department.
