About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Mali lacks road and transportation means and there are many young Malians who are unemployed in my country.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

There are many young Malians who are unemployed and my center will give them the opportunity to get jobs. I would like to specialize and improve my knowledge in communications. I am planning to go to the USA to know about Information technology or telecommunications and open my own business center or call center here in Bamako where I’ll give employment to many young Malians by creating jobs. This is very important because Mali lacks roads and transportation means, and telecommunication can help solve many of the problems.
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

Telecommunication can facilitate the exchange between people and develop business in Mali. I want to facilitate communication calls between businessmen and the rural populations, communication between Mali and the rest of the world. For example, my center will give information on the prices of gold, iron, peanuts, millet, beans, cotton, rice, domestic animals, etc…Finally, I will send questionnaires to the eventual clients or adherents and ask about their degree of satisfaction or disatisfaction with my company. Those questionnaires will be analyzed to know the strengths and weaknesses of my company and some corrections will be made. I am very optimistic about the creation of my company because it will create jobs for the unemployed.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

Telecommunication can facilitate the exchange between people and develop business in Mali. I want to facilitate communication calls between businessmen and the rural populations, communication between Mali and the rest of the world. For example, my center will give information on the prices of gold, iron, peanuts, millet, beans, cotton, rice, domestic animals, etc… People will pay some money to get that information, and the populations will know where to find the cheap products. It is going to be good for everybody. Finally, with the money coming from the information, I, too, will pay the people working for me. The benefits will be used to develop the center and create more jobs. All this will be good for my enterprise and my country. Finally, I will send questionnaires to the eventual clients or adherents and ask about their degree of satisfaction or disatisfaction with my company.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

My company will act as an interface between producers of agricultural and livestock products and consumers of those products. To get information about cheaper food products, both the producers and consumers will pay a user fee. Agents of my company will cover many parts of the areas where those products are coming from. Those who want to get information will pay for it. Reaching the target population: In order to reach my target population, I will call meetings of information and sensitization about my micro-enterprise.
Sustainability

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

I am planing with my Father and we will ask Partners: Ashoka, STT (Sylla Transit and Transports) an Enterprise in Mali or Banks.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

In order to reach my target population, I will call meetings of information and sensitization about my micro-enterprise. During those meetings I will highlight the importance of having information and data concerning the prices of different food commodities such as rice, corn, beans, meat, ect... This will enable the buyers to make choices about the products they will buy because they will know where to get the cheapest products. I will also take advantage of those meetings to pass around fliers emphasizing the benefits people will draw from the creation of my enterprise.
