What if we, the people told the representatives what to do?
About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Most of us would agree that no matter where we live in this world, that our governments do not function in the best way, they do not represent us very well. In most countries, people can vote only every four or five years and after that participating in the official decision making is very difficult. This distances them from democracy, they become disappointed when they feel that the party they voted for doesn't represent their interests.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

The internet gives us ways to engage the public in giving feedback to the work of the representatives, and social media can make participation viral. If the majority of the public decided to tell their opinion, the politicians will be informed about the public opinion and upon which they will have to react. We just need a central political platform where activists upload the initiatives, a short summary of it, we gather related articles and blog posts and let the public debate and vote on the initiatives. If users decide to make their actions visible to their followers, participation will be as viral as the newest memes.
