Concise Summary: Help us pitch this solution! Provide an explanation within 3-4 short sentences.

A new playground was built in our village with a wonderful co-operation of NGOs, local Government and business sector. A lot of volunteers helped planting trees and schrubs on the playground. The children were involved working too. We plan to maintain this new playground also in co-operation.

WHAT IF - Inspiration: Write one sentence that describes a way that your project dares to ask, "WHAT IF?"

What if we co-operate and build a playground rather than waiting for the local Municipality to do it on their own?
About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

The main problem was that the Municipality always have a lot of tasks, therefore they were not able to build the playground on their own.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

We and the other local civil organizations try to help to the Municipality to keep the the new playground in good condition. Each year we shall come together to discuss what to do in order to keep the good condition of the playground and find funds to develop it with new plants and objects.
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

As Nagykovácsi is a developing village next to the Hungarian capital, the number of houses increases. Many large families live here. They need place to come together and need green areas. The new playground can serve as a community place both for children and parents.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

Many families with children, who earlier had to go to other playgrounds in Budapest, now can enjoy the new playground . It is also a meeting point for the parents. The green areas also have increased because of the several trees and schrubs planted into the playground. Earlier this place was a vacant site.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

In lack of appropriate playground, families had to go in the nearby city with their children. Now they do not need to use car. This also helps to reduce the harmful emissions. Many people worked together on building the playground and planting out the trees. The children who also helped to adults could see how uplifting is working together. We intend to work together for maintaining the new playground in future too. We plan to involve the Large Families' Association, Municipality, some businessmen, individuals. We hope that working together will be a joyful part of living in Nagykovacsi.
Sustainability

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

We plan to invite the team member each springtime , who worked together in the earlier stage and make decision about the necessary works and share the tasks.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

It was a local problem having no playground when there are so many children are living in the village. To solve this problem through collaborating authorities, civil inhabitants and entrepreneurs will give a good example for the future.

Founding Story

There was no playground in the village. Many children live here, so for civil initiation the municipality built a playground 10 years ago, that was not well done. The Nagykovácsi Association for the protection of nature and environment (NATE) decided to make the authorities to renew the ground in order to correspond the present requirements. Nate won a tender for plants in 2010. In association with the municipality, the civil organisations in the village we organised a discussion, the result of which was the reconstruction of the ground. The plan was made by an expert - volunteer, we organised events to raise funds for the realisation. The entrepreneur supplied the object at a low price with delayed payment as a contribution.

Team

Members of NATE, Association for large families, representative of municipality and the people living here. The association members worked on voluntary basis, organised events and used their connections to collect money for the purpose. The municipality owns the ground and is responsible for its state and maintenance. The civil side helps to precise the yearly maintaining tasks and organises actions to refresh the plants for expert's instruction
