About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

In the UK 2 out of 3 ex-prisoners return to prison within two years of release. In part this is because ex-prisoners find it hard to get employment.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

We help ex-prisoners become self employed. We provide Escape Plans that provide information on specific, low cost trades and professions.
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

When you come out of prison, you will find it hard to get a job, because employers don't want to hire ex-prisoners. We overcome this by showing ex-prisoners how to become self employed, such as becoming a window cleaner or handyman.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

Our Escape Plans are being used in six prisons in the UK, in addition to being requested by ex-prisoners.
