By letting the public participate in the brainstorming sessions, workshops and story telling of the local farmers, people will be persuade to learn more about their local food and local farmers in Hong Kong.
Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?
This project requires enough budget to convoke the public in Hong Kong to join the campaign. The diffusion of the campaign will need to be advertised in local radio stations, local channels, social media and public billboards.
Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?
Some NPO's in Hong Kong make an important effort to connect the public directly with the local farmers to consume their products, Aldo this is an amazing effort it doesn't allow the public to share their own perspective of local farming and make them participate with ideas.
Founding Story
I am a MA interaction designer. After settling down in Hong Kong, my interest moved to how local farmers interact with consumers, urban settings, and the market, knowing that HK is a more globalized and financial centre comparing my hometown (Bogota-Colombia). Further more I feel that local food is really important part of hongkonese identity and I realize the ‘local’ taste must be connected in a way with this value. Therefore, Hong Kong constitutes both an interesting and challenging place to propose and rescue the good values of local agriculture e.g. mainlanders farmers and community gardens.
