About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Low literacy rate in our area is not because we don’t have enough schools, We are not facing shortage of high schools in the City but children are mostly dropped out or truant. The problem is that: In the Lahore city the number of schools is increasing gradually by the efforts of government and non government organizations. While there are a huge number of children in the city who are dropped out or never went to school.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

8. Strategy & Activities 1- Visits to Homes and Parents counseling regarding their children education. They will visit in teams of three members each: • One College Student • One Volunteer • One Internee 2- Training Sessions (One Day/ Two Days) of School administration and school staff One retired educationist and one volunteer and one internee shall visit to the schools and take sessions on how to increase school strength.

Non-formal Schools are a good initiative, and healthy example by the local organizations.

6. Primary Beneficiaries • Children (more and more children would be willing to go to schools) 7. Secondary Beneficiaries • Schools Schools will be having more strength, in this why schools would be capable to provide education to the more number of students and earn more. • Parents Parents would be mentally convinced to cooperate with their children and the schools to play their role for their child’s education. • Collage going students College going students would have an opportunity to earn for their needs from this small and enjoyable part of work. • Volunteers More volunteers would have an opportunity to work in this unique plan and learn more. (Mostly local school going children are preferred) • Internees Internees would have an opportunity to have experience in the field before going into the practical life. (Mostly local internees are preferred)

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

3. Facts and figures Out team has conducted a survey in March 2014 of Youhanabad and the adjacent areas that these areas have enough schools but so many children are still in the streets. In Youhanabad there are more than 32 schools including missionary schools, private schools, Schools of different charity based organizations. With these figures we assumed that these areas don’t need schools but an idea to increase the strength of working schools. This idea will impact a good number of schools and a large number of students and their parents.
Sustainability

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

13-Sustainability: We will charge every school a nominal fee: 10,000/- (Fee for one session, Home visits to the relevant parents INCLUDED) 8 x 10,000 = 80,000/- This is how we can reduce the dropout rate and our social enterprise can earn 80,000/- month. We need funds for this project for at least one year, and after that this project will be sustainable.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?
