Concise Summary: Help us pitch this solution! Provide an explanation within 3-4 short sentences.

We are a start up recycling company, that aim to raise property value within our community. Our main purpose is to create job opportunities for the people that believe they cannot get a job and have to crash in dirt bins.

WHAT IF - Inspiration: Write one sentence that describes a way that your project dares to ask, "WHAT IF?"

What if you were able to solve all problems in the world, just by starting to recycle?
About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

We did an Entrepreneurship course; were we had to walk around in our community to find a problem within our community, the problem that we found was property valuation: we found that were there is a low property valuation there are more crime, as well as high rates of unemployment. Due to the fact that there is no jobs there many people that has to crash in dirt bins, to survive, for a living, which is in my own opinion the lowest form of life.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

We came up with a solution to set up small recycling bins, with 4 compartments (A compartment for Tin/Iron, a compartment for paper, a compartment for plastic and a compartment for trash/waste.) We will supple these bins to everyone within or community, who is interested in using our Minimum Viable Product, to help and make it easier for the people for these people crashing in dirt bins to get the recycling materials.
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

We will clean the whole environment and raise the Property Valuation of our community by paying the people using our Minimum Viable Product a fee, depending on how much recycling material they provide us, we will then use the people sort through dirt bins to collect the recycling material and sell it to local recyclers for a profit and also making it sanitary for them.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

We have had an impact in the lives of 4 people who are collecting the recycling material by one of our partners house and we have set up our minimum viable product at other 3 houses within our community, which they supply there recycling materials to one of our partners house and there the 3 people has been collecting the recycling and sold it to recycling companies with in our community for a profit. but in future we are planning to set up our minimum viable product to every household starting within our community and growing it from there and going global to fight and kill the problem, which is unemployment in South Africa and the rest of the world.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

We believe that by raising our property value, we eliminate all problems like crime, unemployment, poverty, etc. and by just starting with recycling we are able to do this. We believe that every person acts according to there environment, so we are going to encourage the people to recycle and use recycling material to improve there lives.

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

So how are we going to make a profitable income for our business? We will be setting up our minimum viable product by everyone within or community who is interested in using our recycling bin, where they can throw in their recycling materials and organize daily pick ups for their recycling materials, which will be collected by the people who is crashing in dirt bin to make it easier for them to collect it and sell it to recyclers.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

There are many big recycling companies like SA metal, Collect a Can and MPECT recycling firms as well as so local recyclers, who is doing great but we saw this as an opportunity to eradicate the problems that we see in our community by creating a job opportunities and connections for everyone to follow the desired career of their dreams by creating HOPE.

Founding Story

We started at the Youth Cafe; a NGO that trains young people (Youth Development) Where we had a session/class called Breaking the Bad: were we had to walk in our community and identify a problem, the problem that we found was property valuation. But still we weren't motivated enough, that's when we did a course called the Grow Leadership Academy is for youth between the ages of 18 to 25. The Grow Leadership Academy has 3 different courses within that course, one of the courses that they offered was Entrepreneurship, we had the best facilitator that told us that problems are good because for every problem there has to be a solution, now the entrepreneur turns that solution into a profitable business and with a BANG in our mind we started.

We a group of 5 people working together to make our community a better place .
