Transforming our Latin American Communities One Short Film at a Time.
La Poderosa Media Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that encourages empowerment, linguistic competence, and intercultural translation through community-based visual arts programs in Latin America.
Since the organization’s founding in 2006 more than 200 students from across Latin America have benefited from our unique pedagogical model, which facilitates youth empowerment and civic engagement through the production of short films and documentaries. We bring together undergraduates, graduate students, professionals, and high school aged students to promote intercultural communication and cooperation, working toward a common artistic goal.
To facilitate the self-representation, creative expression, and economic advancement of Latin American underserved youth through equal access to digital media training and resources.
To provide American college students with a high quality and affordable alternative to study and intern abroad.
To bring together into productive dialogue culturally and linguistically diverse groups through the creation of short films and documentaries.
