Since 1994, The Environmental Initiative Awards has celebrated innovative projects that harness the power of partnership to produce tangible, positive environmental outcomes in Minnesota. In 2011, fifteen finalists were honored, five winners announced, and one winner selected by popular vote for the Partnership of the Year award.
This was the first year InCommons was used by The Minnesota Environmental Initiative (MEI) to collect nominations. Michael Harley, Executive Director of MEI describes the partnership:
All communities face challenges. InCommons takes a new approach to advance solutions. Through in-person gatherings, online networking and InCommons Challenges that address a broad range of issues, this statewide initiative brings Minnesotans together so they can find and share credible tools, knowledge and resources to solve problems in their communities and improve the quality of life.”
