Elevator Pitch

Concise Summary: Help us pitch this solution! Provide an explanation within 3-4 short sentences.

what if Egypt has less carbon emissions, a more productive society and an the Egyptian street treats both men and women with respect equally? all achieved through one single project ... a simple and smart solution that hammers on different society problems

About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

the traffic jams in Cairo are becoming a continuous nightmare for everyone (on average a person wastes 2 hours commuting everyday) and because of it Cairo has a huge carbon print from gas emissions adding to that the time wasted on commuting ... also single women has to either buy cars or use taxis for short distances because of sexual harassment

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

to introduce the motorcycle Taxi in the busy streets of Cairo, to deliver one passenger to one destination with a predetermined price, which will have a wide range impact on different segments of the society first the motorcycle has way less carbon print than the car and it's more fuel efficient also giving women the chance to use such taxi will be a torch of freedom and a tool of protest for women who wants a fast cheap way of commuting without being harassed for being only women
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

Barada is a young man working in Zamalek and living in Heliopolis it takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes commuting everyday going back and forth the used to feel trapped in his car all the time, there was the psychological pain of feeling late and trapped, the cost of fuel which is constantly rising and the heat during the rush hour which forced him to open the car's air conditioner which consumed much more fuel ... all this changed since Barada started using a motorcycle for transportation the commuting cost in terms of time, money and carbon print has been reduced significantly however he can't afford to change his lifestyle by buying a motorcycle so the sane option was to rent one with a driver .. and that's what we do

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

a 10 Km trip in busy streets of Cairo (average) costs the following 1 hour time 1 liter gas which is 2.60 L.E. the gas emissions of that burnt 1 liter gas using EL tayaar project the same trip costs the following 15 minutes time 0.03 liter gas which costs 0.7 L.E. way less gas emissions so it's obvious how much this project can help saving time, money and reduce the carbon print by significant measures

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

-Become a 360 commuting service provider -Increase the fleet number -Cover all Cairo -Operate 24/7 -A new service to be added which is in case of being stuck in traffic while in a car, el tayaar shall send you a bike with two drivers, one to take your car back home and the other one will take you personally to your destination -Seek partnership with a telecom network provider to gain credibility and accessibility … already some talks have been done with Vodafone -Expand to the north coast / Alexandria / rest of Egypt

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

we need resources just to kick start the business cycle however the "project" business is self sustained and profitable because of the motorcycles efficiency in time and fuel

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

many companies in Egypt are addressing traffic problems however they're trying to improve the already existing platform like "bey2ollak" for example .. but El tayaar is totally different business model that Egypt hasn't seen yet so competitions maybe the TokTok which is a small vehicle to transport passengers for small fares however TokTok cannot drive in urban streets and neighborhoods unlike the motorcycles which is still faster and cheaper and can go through urban neighborhoods
