Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Most part of soil is disappearing every year from the Spanish territory due to intensive agriculture. Most of the species are getting the same lack. On the other hand, the crisis has affected both social and economical aspects. This project represents an opportunity to change the conception of the economy and education, sharing and showing how

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

This project represents an opportunity to change the conception of the economy and education, sharing and showing how it's possible to create low impact and low maintenance spaces for people in order to share knowledge about the different renewable energies, bioconstruction and integration of the permaculture in schools and public spaces. All of this surrounding by an environment where everything is reused and recycled using natural process and where we try to get the integration and the diversification of jobs for the most disadvantage groups of people, so joining all the conditions to create a new innovation model. Enriching soil and biodiversity in the zone in order to recover our soil, out only way to survive.
Impact: How does it Work

Generating new productive and less hurtful models in traditional agriculture and ranching, changing our primary sector into a sustainable and respectful sector with environment, standing out the rest with new ways of certification. Due to the features of the place, it will be putting at disposal of new educational alternative options booming as Waldorf School, really applied for in our current society, creating new possibilities of job and entrepreneurship. The using of this place as an alternative aggrupation and meeting centre for youth during weekends and holidays will create a new offer for entertainment, distancing them from drugs and detrimental practices. On the other hand, we will create an exchange program with Volunteers

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

Cooperation and association are the bases of this centre. So, local people, above all elderly ones, who have a complete knowledge about traditional jobs which are disappearing , could impart courses in exchange of profiting of the facilities of the centre using a “Bank of Time” and using a little piece of terrain in order to enjoy and cultivate it as a cession. The access will be restricted to cycles and electrical public transport, funded by the payment of several local and regional companies in exchange of advertising which will be emitted by the centre. The impact will be measured by a monitoring system for students, both exploitation and trajectory, advising, training, integrating and supervising the complete process. National studies about the proliferation of similar initiatives and new green companies besides generation of new collaboration nets will be measured and developed.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

The possibility to replicate this project all around the word and mainly in Africa, encourage people to do things by themselves, empowering the local market and improving the quality of life, integrating on this, social, environmental and economical aspects.

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

The sustainability of the Project will be secured by the earnings related to the given courses, the sale of fresh products coming from ecological garden and the handmade tinned foods in the local market. The Centre will count with a natural breeding centre of chickens, which will be fed by the garbage of vegetables and wastes of food given by the members of the cooperative in exchange of fresh eggs.

Founding Story

I started with this project 5 years ago, maturing it since them. I have been fighting from a grant form the Spanish government and finally was approved yesterday. I want to make a very potent project, given my background in renewable energies, sharing my knowledge with the visitants and sharing experiences about we can be more and more sustainable and how we can achieve an improvement about how to educate our chidren surrounded by respect and green.

The money will be invested in the project in a way to get it so attractive and powerful to people to integrate it in other places, creating a net of experimental energies and increasing the biodiversity with local species.

At the moment I am working in this project and at the same time developing a project in Africa to teach people how to mount bicycles with local bamboo and how to create a fridge without electricity, based on solar thermal energy and absortium process (amonia based)
