About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Most of the universities in Algeria centralized in the big cities. the majority of the students come from the other regions, they are not familiar with the centers (organizations , associations or clubs) that organize developmental activities because the organizers themselves they do not have a promoting platform that can reach high populatuion of participants .Not having any training leads to possess poor skills and limited experience.

Dzyouthopportunity offeres a website: with its app that inform the students about the developmental programs that exist whether nationally or internationally and assisst the students through their application by English based preparatory workshops.It focuses on : application description , conducting cv/resumes, interviewing , google searching, opportunity management, English speaking and writing skills.

The website gathers information about all the activities and the programs, and works on informing the students exculusively about will contain as well tools to prepare for the application and interview. The website goes with its app to provide max spread of the opportunity. Dzyouthopportunity English based preparotory programs contains workshops , presentations whether online or on land! and mentoring sessions. The activities adressess the following : opportunity description, application description , conducting cv/resumes, interviewing , google searching, opportunity management, English speaking and writing skills. In addition to that social entrepreuneurship and leadership.

Presentations about Hubs websites! such :youthopportunity, africnopportunity....etc Online presentation : how to apply for susi Mentoring session for Aylp, Mepi,Susi Workshops: My cv Workshops about: Algerian youth and civic engagement Presentation about : sharing is having Mentoring your venture and creating projects : AIR(Algeria instructed road) and E-technology Future goals: To implement developmental activitioes as an extracurriculum program in Algerian secondary school. By participating in different academic opportunities , Aklgerian youth will develop their skills and that would increase their employability chances.

DZ youth opportunity targets young students , undergraduate and graduate, so the foundation will start operate with universities clubs and cultural training centers and organization in Algiers, than moving to the near regional universities. The foundation aim as well to involve teachers at High school to bring awareness from early age. Using social media.

Dz youth opportunity counts on ‘friend raising” strategy as a start, after the foundation is developed, the members will be charged a considerable participation fee . sponsoring and fund raising.

There are organizations in Algeria which work to develop the youth skills , However Dz youth opportunity link the youth to these organization and offer them a way to conduct their opportunities and prepare for them. My foundation offers a preparation for the basic elements that many organizations do not consider such as, Opportunity management, internet-opportunity searching, interviewing and English skills. It is a readiness program to seize the opportunity.

Founding Story

Dz youth opportunity as an idea emerged from a personal experience. I Myself as an active student , I find it challenging to involve myself in different programs in Algiers, because there is no one unified simple platform that inform the students about the work of these organization, in the same time, I was looking for opportunities abroad but I was not accepted in many of them because I did not meet with the requirements and those that I could be part of , I knew about them late in time.

Dear Friend,

I admire what you are trying to do. I truly believe that if we want to make the world a better place we need to have more young changemakers; and what you are doing is essentially training people on how to be changemakers. Keep up the good work.

Here is my feedback, it might sound harsh but is full of good intentions.

The pitch should include the problem and should be aimed and showing people that what you are doing matters.Think of if you work on a 20 story building and you are with you an investor in that elevator, how would you pitch your idea? You talk about the problem but no statistics about how serious this problem is and what the solution is! Why is this important and then in the end hint at the solution. Sell the problem then sell the solution.
What if:

What is the root cause of this problem? Much work needs to be done to understand the problem. Think of why are students not prepared and why aren’t the studies preparing them?
What kind of orientation are we talking about, what is going to happen and how? I think it is a little bit too broad and it needs to be more focused. However, I see the value of providing different types of trainings to students. Check text before you submit.
How does it link students with opportunities and how does it prepare them? How are you going to find students and how are you going to find opportunities?
Think of how are you going to define success? How does success look like to you? How are you going to know you reached success? How are you going to measure progress? Set some milestones and goals. Your vision statement is more like a mission statement, which is focused on what you do. Vision statement is what will happen if what you do is effective and successful. Think of a vision statement, what would it look like 10 years from now? What would you impact be? Set a vision that you want to accomplish and then everything that you do should be to reach that point. A cool vision statement that I like is from Oxfam: A just world without poverty. Think of something simple but also that makes you strive to achieve.

Full impact:
Look for a repeatable and scalable model that is simple and powerful because this is the essence of scale and full impact. Once that model is developed the full impact could be reached. This is a very strategic part. Think of creating a repeatable and scalable model that is simple to replicate and there is a source of revenue to keep it sustainable.
When you talk about sustainability, you need to think of how would you pay for your fees and for everything to make sure you are still in operation after 2 years. Think of a repeatable and scalable model. I like charging members, but since most members are going to be students they might not have resources. What other revenue streams you want to introduce?
Think more about what others are doing to address this and how will you do it much better than them. Analyze the market, see how others make money out of this.
