Project Summary
Elevator Pitch

Concise Summary: Help us pitch this solution! Provide an explanation within 3-4 short sentences.

Although Egypt is well known as one of the best destinations for global tourism all over the world , many of the Egyptian people didn't visit most of the touristic sites even for once . so Rahhala is a project for encouraging domestic tourism especially for youth .

WHAT IF - Inspiration: Write one sentence that describes a way that your project dares to ask, "WHAT IF?"

What if you have the chance to visit new touristic sites around you with a group of travel lovers ?
About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

As many Egyptian youth i didn't have the chance visit many of the touristic sites in Egypt although i met many of foreigners who visited places I've never visited here.that's because of high cost of accommodation in hotels or tours especially when you travel with a travel agency.so most of the poorer students can't travel and stay in another city.As a result there will be lack of knowledge about tourism and history among Egyptian students.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

A non-profit initiative to facilitate domestic tourism for Egyptian youth through a network for youth who love travelling and visiting new places from different cities.they will provide host families from their colleagues.as youth will be encouraged to host their peers and guide them in a tour within their city. Being with a host family will be a great educational experience for young students about different cultures, lifestyles, history and nature of each city. So the organizing team in each city will provide the suitable host families for coming students, guide them in tours through the most important touristic sites, provide cultural events and volunteering activities and sessions about tourism.

Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

"Host family" while being at UCONN this summer,it was part of the program to live with an American family for a couple of days. For me it was the most important experience.as I got emerged into the American culture and their lifestyles.so i had the chance to go out and visit many places in that city with them, they told me about the history of each place.but also i noticed that they rarely visit those touristic places which already exists around them.So Rahhala project will target the both sides, college students from different cities to visit new places in others, and native people to learn more about places in their neighborhood. in addition there will be different sessions for students about how to improve tourism and save the environment

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

Actually the idea is still under construction now , we have already found a starting team for the idea . so we are putting the final outlines of the idea and we start in the coming few months . in the future we aim to work on saving the environment field, through different trainings and sessions about environment and how to save it during tourism.also we will work on some projects about how to benefit and develop the touristic sites to attract more foreigner tourists.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

On the short term vision for the coming two years,we are looking forward to spread in 15 different cities all over Egypt, which are considered the best destinations with terrific touristic sites of different cultures. On the long term vision for the coming five years,we aim to spread in the middle east region and north Africa.

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

The only cost we need is some money to rent a place to held meetings and gather in,also some logistics . so we will take fees for participation in each round trip including charge of hosing and meals for the families as support. we will provide some other services as fund raising such as providing tour guides for foreigner tourists.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

Actually it's will be the first idea to encourage domestic tourism in Egypt as well as it help to spread a new culture of host families that we already don't have in our community . i found some initiatives in some cities but working on the scale of single cities for a one day tour.

Founding Story

This idea came to my mind when i was participating at SUSI program at UCONN . i spent three days with an American family at their house , it was really a life experience full of fun and cultural exchange . we visited together many wonderful places. when i came back to UCONN i was talking with a friend about that great experience , and i asked him why don't make that within our country , especially we have many wonderful cities with terrific places to visit , but because of the high cost of accommodation and many other factors we aren't encouraged to travel to faraway cities to visit . but if we already know someone to stay with and to go out with . it will be different .

our team is composed of five members : CEO , organizing team ( two persons ) , marketer , social media .

Hey friend,

Great job. I like how your experience has shaped you to see this opportunity in Egypt. Think of looking more into why traveling is important, and how could people benefit if they travel domestically. Keep up the good work!

Here is my feedback, it might sound harsh but it is with good intentions.

Think of if you work on a 20 story building and you are with you an investor in that elevator, how would you pitch your idea? Talk more about the problem! Why is it important for people to do domestic tourism? And then in the end hint at the solution. Sell the problem then sell the solution. Show statistics to show how serious the problem is.
What if:
So what? Why is this important? What is the impact out of this? What will happen if people travel more domestically?
Why is this happening? Why is this not solved yet? What is the root cause of this problem? Are there any governmental programs to help with this?
This has to be more clearly defined. Think of making it more simple, more details. Where does one go to get to join this program? Is it online, or is it an office?
None yet ;)
This is a good story when you used the exchange student analogy. However, I think it needs to be a little bit more clear. Think of how would your NGO help one student travel in Egypt? Do they find you online or you find them through school programs? How do you find host families?
Think of how are you going to define success? How does success look like to you? How are you going to know you reached success? How are you going to measure progress? Set some milestones and goals.
Full impact:
Look for a repeatable and scalable model that is simple and powerful. Once that model is developed the full impact could be reached. This is a very strategic part. Think of creating a repeatable and scalable model that is simple to replicate and there is a source of revenue to keep it sustainable. Think of a vision statement, what would it look like 10 years from now if everything goes to plan? What will the impact be? What would you impact be? Set a vision that you want to accomplish and then everything that you do should be to reach that point. A cool vision statement that I like is from Oxfam: A just world without poverty. Think of something simple but also that makes you strive to achieve.
Ok, think of more ways to generate revenue. Think of while the students are there, they could do some work such as helping to build a website or a garden in order for them to stay for free. Like work and travel.
Learn from everything that is happening around this. You want to be the top expert for domestic travel in Egypt and then find the best way to get people to join your program.
Founding Story:
Great story!
The team is the most important part of this! Think of creating an advisory board.

Here this was useful for me to learn how to get bucks online when i was on this website for check this for money and this gave me enough dollars that i used for shopping other need of mine .
