Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact? I'll base the project in my city. To gain the publicity, credibility and financing. Then spread to nearby villages. Agreements and partnerships will be done to outreach the most vulnerable areas. Hence, starting as follows: Approach Mansoura University, Faculty of Medicine. Approach schools in Mansoura. Establish our brand. Then aim for outreach. Sustainability Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability? Contracts with the following: Pharmaceutical companies. Household products companies. Integration to institution self-budget. Presenting my company as central agency for receiving the donations and equipments. Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches? Resala, a charity providing one time help with no sustainable impact, based on donations they receive. They don't focus on sanitary measures specifically neither. An agreement with them may be easily obtained and highy valuable for my company. Team Founding Story Whenever I went out to that popular restaurant, it shocked me that they didn't have soup in their restrooms. Also a malfunctioned flushing and drainage system, cooks didn't even wear gloves while making our food! I started to talk to some people, and nobody cared because "who follows the hygiene anyways?!" I went to infectious diseases department in my city, and yes, infectious diseases is very common in Egypt. That's when I said "I'm going to do something about that" It was founded when I was in Connecticut, US. I and 3 of my business colleagues in Egypt agreed on launching the project. Team It's not been discussed yet who is going to do what. Since I've been taking exams since my return to home. I like your founding story and I think that if you are more use a team and a creative thinking mindset to create a new and wonderful solution. Changemaking is a journey, it is not easy and it has lots of ups and downs, but those that persist are the true Changemakers. Keep persisting my friend. Here is my feedback, it might sound harsh but it is with good intentions. Pitch: Talk a little bit about the problem because this sentence has to convince me. Imagine how much more powerful would it be if said something like “According to … 25% of the population lack the necessary sanitation equipment and education for well being and that is why we want to empower people at the bottom to question status qou”. What if: Cool! Problem: Where is this? How many people are having this problem? Why is this happening? Why is this not solved yet? What is the root cause of this problem? Much work needs to be done to understand the problem. Ask people. Talk to 30 families that are having these problems and see what they say about the reason why they are in that place. Solution: I think these needs to be clearer. What are you offering? How are you going to make this movement and how is that connected with ensuring maintenance for plumbing? I think there needs to be more focus on what you are proposing as a solution. Example: You repeated the same thing as the solution? Make it hard to take you serious, please double check your work. Impact: Think of how are you going to define success? How does success look like to you? How are you going to know you reached success? How are you going to measure progress? Set some milestones and goals. Your vision statement is more like a mission statement, which is focused on what you do. Vision statement is what will happen if what you do is effective and successful. Think of a vision statement, what would it look like 10 years from now? What would you impact be? Set a vision that you want to accomplish and then everything that you do should be to reach that point. A cool vision statement that I like is from Oxfam: A just world without poverty. Think of something simple but also that makes you strive to achieve. Full Impact: Look for a repeatable and scalable model that is simple and powerful because this is the essence of scale and full impact. Once that model is developed the full impact could be reached. This is a very strategic part. Think of creating a repeatable and scalable model that is simple to replicate and there is a source of revenue to keep it sustainable. Financial Sustainability: What kind of contracts? What is your value add? You cannot establish a contract with companies for starting a movement?! Marketplace: Ok, this is a good start. How about the government? Are there any other organizations or institutions addressing this issue or it is only Resala? Founding Story: This is a really cool story my friend! I like your passion and energy you have for this. (in the restaurants there are soups and in the restrooms there are soaps – watch you spelling) Team: The most important part of the application is the team. Make sure you get people who are focused and determined to help you in this endeavor. Think of getting an advisory board as well.
