Born in Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem-Occupied Palestine. He obtained his PhD in Biological and Medical Engineering from Paris Nord University-France in 1993. His heart was also with theatre, painting and photography. He is an artist painter, playwright, actor and director. Founder of Alrowwad Cultral and Theatre Society in 1998 with a philosophy that he calls "Beautiful Resistance" as means to save lives and inspire hope and give children and youth possibilities to express themselves in the most beautiful creative and non-violent ways as active change-makers and build peace within to be able to build it around. He was the first Ashoka fellow in Palestine, elected in 2006, and he was also Synergos Social innovator 2011-2013. He is employed by Alrowwad since 2010 as General Director, and teaches part-time at Bethlehem university. He volunteered on the board of many organizations, as well as on the national team for strategic planing for culture in Palestine, on the Council of culture in the Bethlehem Governorate and Secretary of the Preparation committee for Bethlehem Cultural Capital for the Arab World in 2020. He wrote, performed and directed many plays and toured internationally. He is also invited internationally as speaker about Palestinian case, refugees, Non-violent Resistance as well as the power of theatre and arts as means of non-armed struggle.
