ANDREA KOLB is an experienced marketing expert, social entrepreneur, and co- founder of the Club of Marrakesh. She studied economics and cultural management. In 1999 she was appointed to the management board of the Laureus World Sports Awards in London. After the successful implementation of the event in Monaco in 2000 she founded the agency „Calliope-inspiring brand communicaton“ in Munich in 2001. She developed marketing projects for Volkswagen, Deutsche Bank AG, o2 Germany, Mercedes-Benz and others. In 2006 she moved to Berlin. In 2007, together with her husband, Bernd Kolb, she realised the concept of AnaYela – „A place of Inspiration“ in the Medina of Marrakech – that won already 4 times the World Hotel Award. Living in Marrakesh she realised that both worlds actually have to give a lot to each other – and that there is a great potential for intercultural value creation. In May 2011 she then started the social business „ABURY“. Under the positioning of “Beyond Fashion”, ABURY combines the desire for style and ethics, exclusiveness and sustainability in a unique and innovative concept. ABURY seeks and preserves exclusive, authentic handicrafts from all over the world and brings it to a next level in combing it with international, modern design. Unique and original handmade designs, desirable fashion items with a real history and meaning are being created. ABURY is about providing help for self-help, about re-activating existing knowledge and integrating local people into the complete process. She is talking at several conferences like DLDwomen, Engagement fairbindet (organized by the German ministry for development and GIZ), Luxury days, etc.
