Esther Eshiet, is a Social Worker and Career Catalyst with core competences in Sexual & Reproductive health/Rights, Employability,Entrepreneurship,Policy as well as Strategy. With an unflinching passion for working with young people, she founded the Afterschool Peer Mentoring Project now known as Afterschool Centre for Career Development, an organization that inspires, equips and facilitates opportunities for young people in transitional stages of their lives, enabling them seamlessly transit from school to work. She is a 2010 fellow of the Moremi Initiative,in 2012 she was conferred a Commonwealth Youth Exchange Council Fellowship, bagged an Ashoka Fellowship in 2013 and in 2014 was named a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum.

In the midst of a youth unemployment crisis, Esther is positioning young Nigerians to improve their employability through career guidance and volunteer experiences while still in school, in order to assist youth in realizing their ambitions and to secure employment after graduation.

Afterschool Centre for Career Development (ACCD) provides demand -driven work preparedness training and job placement for young people while in schools helping them have planned graduation and smooth transitions from school to work.(work in our definition is paid employment or entrepreneurship)
