Lauren Parnell Marino is a Mobilization Manager in Washington, DC. She recently returned to the US after a completing a Master’s degree in Gender, Globalization, and Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway on a Mitchell Scholarship. Prior to Ireland, Lauren lived in Kampala, Uganda. While there, she was the Communications Director for Uganda Crafts 2000 Ltd., Uganda’s oldest fair trade craft business. She also helped start the Uganda Federation for Alternative Trade (UGAFAT), a network of fair trade producers and advocates in the country, and consulted for a internet-based social venture, Assetmap. Lauren has also worked at the Interfaith Youth Core, led by Ashoka Fellow Eboo Patel. A proud graduate of Northwestern University, Lauren is originally from Minnesota.
