If we want children to be the next generations of innovators, we have to give them practice innovating. Tufts STOMP (Student Teacher Outreach Mentorship Program) does this by working on a grassroots level to bring opportunities for K-12 students to innovate through engineering design activities. STOMP pairs interested teachers with undergraduate engineering students to form a team that implements open-ended engineering design projects.
