As a child with disability and coming from a middle class family in sub-urban Mumbai, I had found school teachers who believed in my potential and constantly encouraged me to succeed. While building a successful career for myself, as I looked back, I realized that my good friends who had started out with me had not been as successful or fortunate. And it hit me how luck plays a very important role in our education system in India and sets up children either to succeed or fail in life. And a lot of this luck depends on how educated the parents are, the family income, the neighborhood, teacher quality / motivation / training; and depends very less on a child's own true potential! Since then, I have been driven by a passion and a vision of 'quality education for ALL'. Khel Planet is my step forward towards this vision. It aims to nurture life-skills in all children that will better prepare them to be successful in the 21st century and it's challenges. It makes these skills accessible to children from middle and lower income families like mine.
