Sam joined EcoLogic in the summer of 2010. Working out of the Cambridge, MA headquarters he coordinates closely with the senior program officer for institutional development to research new sources of project funding from foundations, corporations, and public agencies, and cultivate and steward relationships with institutional donors through the writing of proposals and reports. He also provides support with research and proposal writing for donors in which there is overlap between individual and institutional relationships and serves as the staff liaison to the Board of Directors. Prior to joining EcoLogic, Sam worked in sales for an international education company in the Boston area. He holds a BA in international affairs and geography from the University of New Hampshire has professional working proficiency in Spanish and a basic working knowledge of Portuguese. Sam has lived in Spain and has also spent time in Belize, Mexico, Honduras, France, Scotland, and Canada.

Approximately 45% of Guatemala and Honduras’ population is food-insecure. EcoLogic combats this and saves forests using ‘alley-cropping with Inga edulis.’ Farmers increase staple food production, improve soil quality, and use less land, preserving forest resources and ecosystem services.
