Bio:
Passionate about re-imagining food supply chains to efficiently and sustainably meet the needs of rapidly urbanizing populations, Sarah moved to Nashville in 2012 to launch Nashville Grown, a nonprofit food hub for urban and peri-urban farms. Prior to launching Nashville Grown, she worked at Ashoka, dreaming up new internal communications efforts and conducting research and writing on behalf of CEO Bill Drayton. She's previously worked at the Farmers Market Coalition, interned at the International Food Policy Research Institute, and is a 2009 graduate of Stanford University, where she majored in international relations and moral philosophy. In her spare time, she enjoys rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, Argentine tango, and attempting to play the Turkish ney.

An entire city can efficiently feed itself on local produce alone, and we're out to prove it. First stop? Nashville. By aggregating produce from everything from tiny backyard gardens to multi-acre farms, we're building a wholesale distribution system for urban-farmed food that rivals Sysco.
