Shiv Bhaskar Dravid, 26, is the founder and creator of The Viewspaper - Citizen Journalism based Youth Media Company. Shiv was inspired to take action when he realized that his own daily experiences were quite different from the observations and discussions amongst media elites. Today The Viewspaper runs a number of papers. It is read by more than 150,000 young people a month and engages close to 8,000 young writers and 230000 Facebook fans in sharing their views and opinions and has emerged as India’s largest youth paper. Shiv is the brain behind India's biggest twitter case study - The #ifeelup Tweetathon that was the World's Largest Online Conference lasting 73 hours and celebrated the positive things about India. It trended number 1 in India for 40 hours. Shiv has been covered for his work in a number of media including NDTV, ET Now, HT Mint, Economic Times, The Hindu, Dainik Bhaskar, Business Standard amongst others. He was one of the 8 winners of the Staples Ashoka Youth Social Entrepreneur Competition in November 2010. He was recently made an IMF fellow and represented the Indian youth perspective at the IMF World Bank Spring meetings in Washington DC in April 2011 and the Annual Meetings in September 2011. He also represented India at the G20 Y held in Paris in October 2011. He was also invited by the US department of state and UNESCO to share the youth perspective at the World Press Freedom Day 2011 at Washington DC. In November 2011 The Viewspaper won the United Nations World Youth Summit Award for the Best E-content on the web in the category of Pursue Truth.
