Dr. Sidney Coupet, is an Internal Medicine Physician who completed his undergraduate degree in biology at Gannon University in Erie PA. He obtained his medical degree at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to obtain a Masters in Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health. He then completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Career Interest: Dr. Coupet is interested in improving the health of diaspora communities in the United States and increase the understanding of transnational influences on US healthcare system. He aims to conduct and promote research on the health impact of transnational communities, create policies that support global coordination of healthcare in the US and abroad and establish effective healthcare delivery system models for this vulnerable population. Research Interest: 1) The impact of transnational connections on the health behavior and outcomes on diaspora communities. 2) The impact of global health education on America’s Healthcare Workforce. 3) Research on effective Healthcare delivery systems in low resource settings. 4) Improving access to quality care in underserved populations.
