Theoharis Tziovaras has been teaching Environmental and Sustainability Science at the Hellenic American University for four years. He has created a minor concentration in Sustainability at the University, working on curriculum development and student recruitment, while serving as well at the Academic Council of the University. He is also the mentor of the University’s Sustainability Club. He has often been guest speaker of organizations such as the Federation of Young European Greens and the Cooperation and Development Network of Eastern Europe, travelling and giving lectures around Europe on sustainability-related issues.
He holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science from Lund University, Sweden, and a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of La Verne, Athens Campus (Cum Laude). He is also member of the Alpha Chi Honors Society. He has worked as a foreign news editor at the Greek newspaper “To Vima”, as a scriptwriter for international feature films, and as a project manager and scientific consultant at the World Carfree Network. His main academic interests revolve around sustainable degrowth, education for sustainability, and the narrative needed in order to facilitate the transition towards a sustainable society.
