This project is about automation tools we can leverage to make challenges more accessible to both applicants and staff.

Technology Tools & Infrastructure - tech solutions that are currently available and we could leverage to evolve the Challenge
The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?
Staff spend a lot of time manually doing processes throughout the whole challenge. This is inefficient and also takes a lot of brainpower and time we could be using for furthering strategy or supporting young people.
Your Idea: What is your idea for re-imagining Changemaker Challenges? Share your specific approach.
My idea is to automate a lot of processes, especially during the outreach and review phases. For example, creating an automated AI chatbot so that if young people have questions while completing their application, they can get the answers directly from the chatbot – they don’t have to work with staff. Automating the review process, so that set types of feedback scripts are provided based on how they scored and what part of the criteria they were missing in their application. Or if we could also leverage AI so that it does a pre-round of scoring where it identifies things that fit the criteria and creates a score based off of that would also be great.
Your Inspiration: What inspired your solution? Feel free to reference competitors, or other techniques or technologies.
The Reviewr platform has a chat bot at the back end that answers commonly asked questions, and lots of other platforms. The amount of time it takes staff who work on outreach to answer questions and how many young people we lose if it gets difficult to submit an application motivates me for this solution.
The Impact: How will your idea benefit Changemaker Challenge design or delivery?
This could decrease the time staff spend on answering questions and do reviews by over 100 hours.
Your Passion: What do you love about Changemaker Challenges?
I think the question is what do I not love! haha. I love that the Challenges give young people the opportunity to get visibility, build friendships, and receive seed funding to boost their work! I feel like it's exactly what young leaders want and sometimes express that they need, to build credibility for their work and feel that their work matters. The summits are the best, I feel that the in-person portion of the Challenges is everything!
