Summary
"Liberdade para Trabalhar" (Freedom to Work) is transforming Brazil by reducing bureaucratic barriers and expanding economic freedom across all 27 states and 5,570 municipalities. The project drives the implementation of the Economic Freedom Law, which exempts low-risk businesses from licensing. In partnership with governments and business associations, it empowers small entrepreneurs to launch and expand businesses more easily and legally. As of April 23, 2025, 363 municipalities and 8 states have adopted the law with the project's support, benefiting 117.3 million Brazilians with greater opportunity and dignity. Cities that implemented the law saw a 40% increase in job creation and an 89% rise in new businesses.
