Founding Story: What was the spark that led you to start your project? What was the "Aha!" moment that led you to get started and see the potential for this to succeed?
My name is Daniel, and I am 7 years old. I am homeschooled, and I really love learning, especially math and science! My mom helps make learning fun with colorful worksheets, hands-on activities, and educational games. That gave me an idea. What about kids who don’t have all those things? Some families might not have enough money to buy crayons, books, school supplies, or fun activities to help their children learn. I don’t think any kid should miss out on learning just because they don’t have the same things as someone else. That’s how I came up with Little Learners, Big Dreams! I want to create special learning kits filled with school supplies, educational activities, and fun surprises for kids who need them. I also want to include activities for kids who learn differently because everyone deserves a chance to succeed. I know I’m only 7, but I believe kids can help other kids make big changes. I want to show that you don’t have to be a grown-up to make someone’s day better or help them learn something new.
How do you encourage other people to join your project or learn about the problem you’re working on? If you have a new idea, tell us how you will do this in the future.
I believe kids can make a big difference when we work together! Since my project is still an idea, I haven’t started recruiting volunteers yet, but I have lots of ideas for getting people involved. First, I want to tell my family, friends, and other kids about Little Learners, Big Dreams and explain why some children need extra help getting educational supplies and activities. With my mom’s help, I want to create colorful flyers and share information in local community groups to ask for donations and volunteers. I also want to invite other children to help make learning kits, create artwork, design fun activities, and write encouraging messages for the children who receive them. I hope to work with local libraries, businesses, and community organizations to collect supplies and help get the kits to families who need them. I think it would be really cool to have a Kids Helping Kids Day where children come together to assemble learning kits! I want everyone to know that helping doesn’t always mean donating money. Sometimes sharing supplies, giving your time, or making something special for someone can make a difference. Even small acts of kindness can turn into something big!

Impact: How has your project created impact / made a difference so far? Or, if at an early stage, what will impact look like?
My project is still in the idea stage, but I have big dreams for what it can become! My first goal is to make 20 free learning kits for children in my community who might not have access to educational supplies and activities at home. That means 20 children could receive their own special kit filled with things to help them learn, create, and have fun. I hope these kits will help children practice reading, writing, math, and other important skills while building their confidence. I also want children who learn differently to feel included by providing activities that work for their individual needs. I want to involve other kids and families in my community, too. They could donate supplies, help make learning activities, or write encouraging messages to include in the kits. If my project grows, I would love to help 50 children, then 100, and hopefully even more! I will keep track of how many kits we make, how many children receive them, and how many people help us along the way. I believe even one learning kit can make a difference because it could help a child discover something new, feel proud of themselves, or realize that someone cares. My goal is to show that kids helping kids can make the world a better place!

Little Learners, Big Dreams
The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve? Why does it matter to you and your community?
Not every child has the same opportunities to learn. Some families struggle to afford basic school supplies, books, educational games, and other activities that help children practice important skills at home. Children with disabilities or different learning needs may also have trouble finding activities that work best for them. This can make learning harder or less enjoyable. I believe every child deserves the chance to learn, be creative, and feel proud of themselves, no matter how much money their family has or how they learn. My project, Little Learners, Big Dreams, will help by providing free educational kits filled with useful supplies, creative activities, and hands-on learning materials. This matters to me because I love learning, and I want other kids to have fun learning too! I want to help families in my community who might need a little extra support. I hope my project helps children feel excited about school, builds their confidence, and reminds them that someone cares about their future.

What’s Next: What are the next steps you plan to take to grow or strengthen your project over the next year? If your project is still in the idea stage, describe the steps you will take over the next three months to launch or begin developing it.
Over the next three months, I want to turn Little Learners, Big Dreams from an idea into something that really helps kids! During the first month, I plan to work with my mom to make a list of supplies, choose fun educational activities, and design different learning kits for different ages and abilities. I also want to create a flyer explaining my project and asking for donations of new school supplies. During the second month, I hope to collect crayons, pencils, notebooks, books, and other learning materials. I want to ask family, friends, local businesses, and community members to help. I will also reach out to libraries and community organizations to find families who could benefit from the kits. During the third month, my goal is to put together and distribute my first 20 learning kits! I want to include fun activities and encouraging messages in each one. After that, I hope to collect feedback, improve the kits, and invite more kids to get involved. My biggest dream is to grow this project so I can help even more children. I want Little Learners, Big Dreams to become something my community can keep doing together!
Your Innovation: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there? How is your project new or innovative?
What makes Little Learners, Big Dreams different is that it’s not just about giving kids school supplies. It’s about making learning fun, creative, and accessible for every child! Many programs help families by donating backpacks, pencils, and notebooks. Those things are important, but I want to go one step further by creating learning kits filled with activities that children can actually use to practice new skills while having fun. I’m homeschooled, and I know that learning doesn’t have to mean sitting at a desk doing worksheets all day. Sometimes I learn best by playing games, doing experiments, using colorful pictures, or making things with my hands. That’s why I want to create different learning kits based on children’s ages, interests, and learning needs. Some kits could include counting games and alphabet activities, while others could have reading challenges, science experiments, puzzles, or creative art projects. I also want to make special accommodations for children who learn differently. This could include visual instructions, hands-on activities, and calming tools. Another thing that makes my project special is that kids will help lead it! I want other children to help choose activities, create encouraging messages, and put together kits for kids just like them. Instead of giving every child the exact same supplies, I want each kit to help children feel excited, confident, and included. My idea combines education, creativity, kindness, and inclusion because I believe learning should be an adventure everyone gets to enjoy!
Your Solution: How are you solving this problem? Share your specific solution.
My project, Little Learners, Big Dreams, will help children in need by giving them free educational learning kits filled with fun activities and supplies to help them learn at home. Each kit will include things like crayons, pencils, notebooks, coloring pages, flashcards, counting activities, and educational worksheets. I also want to include creative projects like arts and crafts, puzzles, and hands-on learning games because learning should be fun! Not every child learns the same way, so I want to make different kits for different ages and learning needs. Some could include visual learning tools, simple instructions, sensory-friendly activities, and calming exercises to help children who need extra support. I plan to start by collecting donations of new school supplies and working with my family to create and organize the learning kits. I want to ask other kids to help by making encouraging cards, choosing activities, or helping pack supplies. With my mom’s help, I would like to connect with local libraries, community organizations, and programs that support families who may need these resources. My goal is to start small by making 20 learning kits and then keep growing as more people get involved. I want every child who opens one of my kits to feel excited, included, and proud of what they can learn!
Your team: What role(s) do your team members play? How do you share leadership with them?
I am the leader of Little Learners, Big Dreams! I will help choose the learning activities, design the kits, and organize supplies. My Mom and Dad will help me collect donations, connect with community organizations, and deliver the kits. My little sister can help choose colors, decorate packages, and make encouraging cards. We will share ideas and make decisions as a team. I also hope to invite other kids to join us because I believe children can make a difference when we work together!
