Project Stage

Idea (We’re hoping to get started in the future)

Founding Story: What was the spark that led you to start your project? What was the "Aha!" moment that led you to get started and see the potential for this to succeed?

The spark that led me to this idea was thinking about people in hospitals and wondering how to help. Although I may not know what they are going through, that doesn't mean I can't contribute something to them. The hospital bags could have things in them that could bring joy to the patient, or something that would be useful while they are in the hospital. Just having someone that cares can go a long way.

The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve? Why does it matter to you and your community?

The problem I am helping to solve is kids and families with a long term illness often feel forgotten and like no one cares. Solving it matters to me because I want those families to know that someone is thinking about them and that someone does care.

Your Solution: How are you solving this problem? Share your specific solution.

I am solving this problem by making hospital bags for the patients and their families. The bags could have items from fluffy socks to chargers. This idea makes a difference because it will show those families that they are cared for and they are not forgotten. The bags can also be helpful to them and could contain items that they might need while in the hospital, like a charger.

Impact: How has your project created impact / made a difference so far? Or, if at an early stage, what will impact look like?

This project is still an idea. The impact that I hope it makes is making patients and their families know that they are cared for and not forgotten. That they are being rooted for and that people want to help in any way. I think it will work because even if it is just a small bag, the gesture itself will show those families that they are cared for.

Your Innovation: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there? How is your project new or innovative?

This solution will have items that are needed, like a charger, and also items that can make a person smile, like a squishie. The items in the bag will be carefully thought out and not randomized.

How many people are on your team?

1

Your team: What role(s) do your team members play? How do you share leadership with them?

My team is my class. There are 5 people involved and we would work on picking out the items in the bags and putting them together. We would all go together to give out the bags.

What’s Next: What are the next steps you plan to take to grow or strengthen your project over the next year? If your project is still in the idea stage, describe the steps you will take over the next three months to launch or begin developing it.

Our project will be developed by picking out items to put in the bags.

How do you encourage other people to join your project or learn about the problem you’re working on? If you have a new idea, tell us how you will do this in the future.

I encourage others to join the project by telling them the impact we can make on other people. I will tell them how far it can go and the things we could achieve through this project.
