For participants under 13, an adult ally (for example, a teacher, youth worker, parent, or mentor) must complete the submission on your behalf. The story itself should be written in the young person’s own words and perspective. The adult’s role is purely administrative, ensuring safeguarding requirements are met and that you are supported through the process. This is simply to make sure we’re following safeguarding best practice and that you’re supported throughout the process by someone who knows your journey.

Title
From Pocket money to International Tournament. - MM16
Tell us your changemaking story.
Having visited Zimbabwe several times to visit I noticed that most young people would be milling around taking illicit substances. After a few conversations with my dad, we decided to speak to the locals in a town named Redcliff who were fascinated with the prospect of a football Tournament being hosted by MM16. This was the birth of the MM16, which then in August 2025 hosted their inaugural Tournament. The MM16 Super Cup was born and a record number of teams attended at very short notice. The first edition of the Tournament was sponsored using my personal pocket money I had saved over time, and some help from my dad. We provided all the necessary equipment, refreshments, paid the referees fees, and the fields which were used, although they were in a deplorable state. The tournament was held over 2 days, which were Saturday and Sunday. Two age groups contested
How do you hope your story will inspire others?
I hope others will read my story and feel the need to help those from less privileged backgrounds, and in Countries where amenities are scarce. In many third world Countries young people are being left out in the cold in terms of facilities and end up turning to illicit substances and crime to pass time.
Who else is collaborating with you on this?
My Dad and the locals from Redcliff, Zimbabwe
