My project is an existing project that I started
Project Stage
Growth (We’ve moved past the very first activities and are beginning to have consistent weekly or monthly impact)
Founding Story: What was the spark that led you to start your project? What was the "Aha!" moment that led you to get started and see the potential for this to succeed?
The spark that started with me was because I wanted to have a friendship, Realtonship with people that will keep me updated and so I'll be able to know what is going on in this digital era because one of the book I read reminds me that opportunity are with people so that made to took the first step looking for people I can have a meaningful relationships with so we can learn and share opportunities together. Then after that I met a friend he took me to a community and I joined the community, what I was expecting was not what I met. They are telling us that if you want to grow this life you have to turn back to everyone even your family, even your school you're going you don't need it you have to turn it away and face your real life. After a week people are keeping opportunities to themselves, I asked a book I can't afford from someone there to read he said he can't give me that I have to struggle to get it first. This is disheartened because if a new student that gain admission to school get to know about the community they'll disrupt his career and make him to turn against his/her parents. And that can led to doing what can put the person in regret. A decision can either change our life or destroy it . This made me to take a decision that I'll have a community that will help students to come together, learn better, grow faster and access real opportunities together.
The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve? Why does it matter to you and your community?
The problem we're solving at Starco Hub is we're working towards making every student have a great support, learning, and growing beyond the classroom Every students has limit their life to only I personally will be doing my things individually, thinking he/she doesn't need any support from friends to learn, growth together and share opportunities with them. That kind of person will not know what's going on and idleness will not make the person grow. We're intentional to support ourselves when students are limiting themselves to classroom and idleness alone or trying to belong into a community that doesn't want growth for them. This problem matters to us because we think if we have a community where students are not trying to fit in because they want to be seen, but because they want to learn, grow make sure that they're not push or under pressure thinking their life can't be better because they don't have the can't get the best support from others, but coming together as one and sharing different opinions, learning, and support one another.
Your Solution: How are you solving this problem? Share your specific solution.
Our solution is what makes us unique, what we do is we have 3 systems. 1. Growth Series: This is a a webinar for every student at Starco Hub and we do this every month episode by episode, in addition to this growth series we have a session we called "Storytelling night " every Wednesday night we'll share a story story of a successful person share about their struggles, mistakes and challenges which we learn from it together. 2. Creator Circle: We have this because now everything is going digital, we use to advice every member to have their online presence & personal branding. When they make post online and share their post where over much students are, there will be faster engagement because a system of support has already been in place. 3. Book Club: We share the books we're reading and then every weekend we'll share the lesson we've learnt from the book and how we're going to put it into action to our life.
Impact: How has your project created impact / made a difference so far? Or, if at an early stage, what will impact look like?
Though we're at the growth stage but one of the thing is that we started our first cohort may 2nd and by the grace of God we're able to impact 13 students with different skills (web design, video editing, technical Writing). Now that we've transit to a community students have come to give us a good feedback that their personal branding have been getting engagement than they expect, some students are able to get opportunities only because other students share it to the group or with them, students are able to read at least 1-3 hours everyday. Students are able to learn from other successful people story and their mistakes, this has shape many students mindset in taking the action stores towards how they see life.
Your Innovation: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there? How is your project new or innovative?
Why we're different from other people is because, we have systems in place, every month we have a growth series webinar, at the end of the week students come to share what they've read, every Wednesday night we have a story telling moment. Creator Circle students post their social media posts and we support one another by engaging it. Having all these Systems is what have make us unique and different.
How many people are on your team?
11
Your team: What role(s) do your team members play? How do you share leadership with them?
We're 11 in total We're 3 executives, what we do is talk together about the next move, this is where we share the vision and mission together. We have other 8 leaders, they're founding leaders what they do is handling tasks, group engagement, get feedback and respond to students questions, also publicity, sharing of digital books for students to read. We work together by getting feedback from one another every month we'll send a form among ourselves and wirte our monthly feedback.
What’s Next: What are the next steps you plan to take to grow or strengthen your project over the next year? If your project is still in the idea stage, describe the steps you will take over the next three months to launch or begin developing it.
Our next step is to have a campus Ambassadors: what they'll do is help us to let other students know about Starco Hub and how they can benefit, if we have campus Ambassadors in different schools, before we know it students are going to be benefiting form a community where there is support in place already.
How do you encourage other people to join your project or learn about the problem you’re working on? If you have a new idea, tell us how you will do this in the future.
I've put in place a system of leaders we call founding leaders, they're not executives what they do is to focus on their tasks, because we can't induct them in as an executive we don't know what they're capable of doing. So, we get to know their strength and weaknesses when they're still serving as a founding leaders. After some months we've seen their work and we know they're capable as an executive then we'll be able to 100% join this project vision.
