Founding Story: What was the spark that led you to start your project? What was the "Aha!" moment that led you to get started and see the potential for this to succeed?
Whenever I visit museums, science fairs, national parks, and arboretums, I discover a wide range of scientific concepts. Each place offers something different to explore, and I often find myself asking questions about things I had never thought about before. For example, during my visit to the NASA Space Center in Houston, seeing the Saturn V rocket sparked my curiosity to learn about how a rocket flies. Upon visiting Mammoth Cave National Park, I discovered how unique cave structures, such as stalactites and stalagmites, are formed over thousands of years. Learning about these formations made me appreciate the natural processes that shape the world. At the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago, I learned how science and technology drive medical progress and how discoveries in these fields have changed the way we understand and treat the human body. But one day while talking with my cousin in India, I realized that not all kids have access to these opportunities and face geographic and financial barriers to learning experiences like these. My cousin loves science but had never been to a museum and was so happy to hear what learned during my museum visit. It made me wonder how many other students might develop the same curiosity if they had access to similar opportunities. That realization inspired me to start STEAM Studio, where I share my learnings with others.
How do you encourage other people to join your project or learn about the problem you’re working on? If you have a new idea, tell us how you will do this in the future.
I have shared STEAM Studio topics by sharing my videos with friends, family, classmates, and teachers. As my YouTube channel is growing and audience is enjoying the content, grows, subscribers are spreading the content further by sharing the videos with others. I have also engaged with viewers and asked for the topics they are curious about, which helps build a community of engaged learners and keeps the content relevant to their interests. Some other students have also reached to me after watching the channel. As the project expands, I hope to involve other middle school students who are passionate about science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. By collaborating with peers who bring different interests and perspectives, STEAM Studio could create a wider variety of content while giving more students the opportunity to develop leadership, communication, and educational outreach skills. Future funding would help support these collaborative efforts and expand the project's impact on young learners.

Impact: How has your project created impact / made a difference so far? Or, if at an early stage, what will impact look like?
Since launching STEAM Studio, I have built a growing global audience of more than 200 followers, allowing educational content to reach students far beyond my local community. By providing free, engaging videos on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, the channel helps remove barriers to learning and makes educational enrichment more accessible to young people regardless of their location or resources. Some viewers have even reached out to request videos on specific topics, which demonstrates that viewers are interested in learning about subjects they want to explore further, when explained in an engaging fashion. Knowing that students want to see certain topics covered motivates me to keep creating content that connects with their interests. STEAM Studio has also made a difference in my own learning. I need to know a topic well enough to teach others. This process has pushed me to explore science more deeply while improving my communication and presentation skills. In the long term, I hope to contribute to a more scientifically literate and curious generation of learners. Anyone who develops an interest in science, asks a new question, or sees new possibilities for their future because of STEAM Studio represents a meaningful step toward expanding educational opportunity and inspiring future innovators, problem-solvers, and community leaders.

Project Summary: Describe your project in one sentence
STEAM Studio is a YouTube channel, with over 200 followers, that I created to make science more accessible and interesting for young learners; inspired by my visits to museums, national parks, and other places where I discover new scientific concepts, I create videos to share what I learn with kids who may not have access to these experiences due to geographic or financial barriers.

The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve? Why does it matter to you and your community?
Curiosity is universal, but the access to enriching learning opportunities is not. Many students encounter science only through textbooks and classroom assignments. While these resources provide important knowledge, they do not always show how science connects to everyday life or inspire students to explore topics beyond the curriculum. For young people who lack access to educational travel, enrichment programs, or hands-on learning experiences, it can be harder to discover interests that could shape their future. This matters because diverse exposure can create new opportunities. A kid's passion for science can begin with a single idea, question, or experience that captures their imagination. When those opportunities are limited, some kids may never discover their interests, talents, or career paths they could have otherwise pursued. Through STEAM Studio, I am helping address this challenge by creating free, engaging educational videos that make complex topics approachable and exciting. My goal is to bring the spirit of exploration to students wherever they are, helping them build confidence, think critically, and develop a lifelong love of learning. I believe every child deserves the chance to be inspired by science, regardless of their background, location, or circumstances.

What’s Next: What are the next steps you plan to take to grow or strengthen your project over the next year? If your project is still in the idea stage, describe the steps you will take over the next three months to launch or begin developing it.
Over the next year, I want to focus on creating more videos for STEAM Studio, improving their quality, and reaching a larger audience. One of my first steps is to invest in better audio equipment, lighting, and video editing software. These tools would help me produce better and more professional content videos at a faster rate. I also want to expand the range of topics I cover. In addition to subjects like space exploration, engineering, medicine, and environmental science, I would like to introduce a segment on mood and anxiety management. I want to provide viewers with practical, evidence based techniques that young people can use in their daily lives to manage big emotions and stress. As Haemin Sunim said, "We know the world only through the window of our mind. When our mind is noisy, the world is as well. And when our mind is peaceful, the world is, too. Knowing our minds is just as important... [as] the world." As STEAM Studio continues to grow, I would like to collaborate with scientists, healthcare professionals, educators, and other experts who can share their knowledge and experiences. These partnerships would expose viewers to different career paths and show them how STEAM can be used to solve real-world problems. My long-term goal is to make STEAM Studio a trusted, free learning resource that inspires curiosity and expands access to educational opportunities,
Your Innovation: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there? How is your project new or innovative?
What makes STEAM Studio different is the personal curiosity behind it. Many educational resources are designed around a set curriculum or focus on teaching specific topics. Instead, STEAM studio topics are inspired by discoveries made while exploring museums, national parks, science centers, and other places that spark curiosity. By turning these experiences into engaging videos, STEAM Studio helps bring the excitement of exploration to students who may never have the opportunity to visit these places themselves. It transforms real-world experiences into accessible learning opportunities for children everywhere. Many high quality science shows and educational programs are locked behind paid subscriptions, meaning students may have to pay to access the content they want to learn from. STEAM Studio offers a free alternative through YouTube, allowing viewers to explore STEAM topics without worrying about any cost. I have recently received Acorn to Oak Community Impact Grant to expand the impact of STEAM studio. There is so much content online competing for views, it can be easy for creators to prioritize clicks over the actual value of what they share. STEAM Studio, though, takes a different approach. My priority is creating videos that are informative and well researched. I want viewers to leave with a better understanding of a topic. Rather than simply delivering information, the goal is to help children develop a deeper appreciation for science and see themselves as future innovators, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners. And, for me, the success of STEAM Studio is not defined by the amount of views I get, but by the knowledge my audience gains along the way.
Your Solution: How are you solving this problem? Share your specific solution.
My solution to this problem is STEAM Studio, a YouTube channel where I share educational videos that make STEAM concepts easier to understand. I want students to be able to learn about fascinating scientific topics and connect science to everyday activities even if they cannot travel to museums, science centers, or national parks. I create videos based on a variety of STEAM Topics that learn about during my exploration visits. For instance, while learning about the digestive system in the Museum of Science and Industry, I learned about intrinsic factor and how it helps the body absorb vitamin B12. I wondered why vitamin B12 was so important that the body makes a special protein just to absorb it. This led to learn so much about Vit B12 and its importance. I then proceeded to make a video about its functions and benefits to share these learnings with everyone. When I visited NASA, I became really interested in learning the physics of how rockets work. After coming back, I learned more about it and made a video for STEAM studio as well. I also believe that by being exposed to a wide range of topics, children may discover interests they may not have known they had. YouTube is an important part of my solution because it allows students to access my videos from home, school, or wherever they have an internet connection. They do not need to own subscriptions or spend hours searching for useful videos. They can simply explore different STEAM subjects at their own pace and revisit videos whenever they want to understand a concept better.
Your team: What role(s) do your team members play? How do you share leadership with them?
Currently this is a solo project, developed and run by me alone. However, in future, as the channel expands, I plan to involving other middle/ high schoolers who share the same passion of empowering the children with correct and diverse knowledge in an engaging way.
