Founding Story: What was the spark that led you to start your project? What was the "Aha!" moment that led you to get started and see the potential for this to succeed?
Take a peek at our Wheelock School Sign. Do you notice something that's missing? I do! Plants! Flowers! A beautiful Garden! We're hoping to add beautiful gardens to Wheelock School to help our school community and the environment. Our student council can help with this along with our classmates and teachers. Maybe this grant can help get us started!
How do you encourage other people to join your project or learn about the problem you’re working on? If you have a new idea, tell us how you will do this in the future.
We will encourage people by making posters and signs if we need more volunteers! We are so excited to tell our school community if we will be able to plant a garden this spring! Maybe this idea can lead to more ways to help our school community and the environment each year!

Impact: How has your project created impact / made a difference so far? Or, if at an early stage, what will impact look like?
This will make our school look beautiful and help the environment. We haven't started the project yet because we need to get supplies. We would love to work on this in the spring!

Our school doesn't have any gardens - that's a problem! Animals and insects would love more flowers. Our school community would love it too!

What’s Next: What are the next steps you plan to take to grow or strengthen your project over the next year? If your project is still in the idea stage, describe the steps you will take over the next three months to launch or begin developing it.
To strengthen our project we will try to get more partnerships to help with our garden. Maybe a local store can donate plants or tools. Maybe more classmates will want to help us!
Your Innovation: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there? How is your project new or innovative?
No one at our school has done this before! We have some grass and playground, but no gardens. This will be new and special for our school.
Your Solution: How are you solving this problem? Share your specific solution.
We will solve this problem by buying plants and gardening tools for our school if we receive grant money! Then we will work together to plant a beautiful garden.
Your team: What role(s) do your team members play? How do you share leadership with them?
My team is the wheelock student council. There are six of us and we will all help garden together. Our teachers will help us buy materials and make a plan of when to do this together!
