Project Stage

Pilot-Stage (We’ve tried an activity or two)

Founding Story: What was the spark that led you to start your project? What was the "Aha!" moment that led you to get started and see the potential for this to succeed?

I was inspired to start this project after recognizing the challenges many young people face in accessing quality education, mentorship, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. I believe every young person deserves the chance to discover their potential, develop valuable skills, and contribute positively to society. This inspired me to create an initiative that supports young people and helps them build confidence, develop leadership abilities, and work toward a better future.

The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve? Why does it matter to you and your community?

Many young people struggle with unemployment, limited access to practical skills training, inadequate mentorship, and a lack of opportunities to develop their talents. These challenges can affect their confidence, independence, and ability to contribute to their communities. Addressing these issues is important because young people are essential to building stronger and more sustainable communities.

Your Solution: How are you solving this problem? Share your specific solution.

Youth Forward Initiative will provide mentorship, leadership development programs, digital skills training, career guidance, and community engagement opportunities. Through workshops, educational activities, and partnerships, the project will help young people gain practical knowledge, build confidence, discover their strengths, and access opportunities that support their personal and professional development.

Impact: How has your project created impact / made a difference so far? Or, if at an early stage, what will impact look like?

Youth Forward Initiative has reached approximately 80 young people by sharing employment opportunities, providing career guidance, and encouraging professional development. The project has helped young people become more aware of available opportunities and take positive steps toward building their careers. Our goal is to continue expanding our reach and helping more young people achieve financial independence.

Your Innovation: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there? How is your project new or innovative?

Our approach combines employment information, career guidance, and personal encouragement in one initiative. Rather than simply sharing job openings, we focus on helping young people understand opportunities, build confidence, and take practical steps toward employment. We aim to make career support more accessible, inclusive, and community-driven.

How many people are on your team?

Your team: What role(s) do your team members play? How do you share leadership with them?

Our team works together to support young people through employment information, career guidance, and community engagement. Responsibilities include identifying job opportunities, sharing useful resources, communicating with participants, and coordinating activities. We encourage collaboration and shared leadership, ensuring everyone contributes to the project's goals.

What’s Next: What are the next steps you plan to take to grow or strengthen your project over the next year? If your project is still in the idea stage, describe the steps you will take over the next three months to launch or begin developing it.

Over the next year, we plan to expand our reach and support more young people seeking employment. We aim to organise career development workshops, build partnerships with employers, provide mentorship opportunities, and share more accessible job resources. We also hope to strengthen our online presence and develop sustainable programs that help young people gain skills, find meaningful employment, and achieve financial independence.

How do you encourage other people to join your project or learn about the problem you’re working on? If you have a new idea, tell us how you will do this in the future.

We encourage others to get involved by sharing our mission, spreading awareness about employment opportunities, and inviting young people to participate in our activities. We also encourage volunteers and community members to contribute their knowledge, experience, and professional connections. By working together, we can reach more young people and create lasting positive change.
